What Do Wedding Flowers Cost?

December 17, 2024 by Christine

If you are planning a wedding, chances are you have a Pinterest Board. Like you, I am addicted to all those beautiful pictures, but unlike you, I know many of the secrets behind those pictures. More often than not, the pictures that get published are from styled photo shoots or real weddings with extremely high budgets. Which is fine, they are great for inspiration. What isn’t fair to you the bride, is that they give you no indication of price. So here you are, with some vague idea of what you should spend on flowers based on your total budget and some formula the Knot gave you and no idea what floral decor and bouquets cost beyond what you spent at Trader Joe’s for a bouquet last week.

Here is what I advise: Bring me your vision, bring me your entire Pinterest board, be honest with me about your budget, and let’s work through it together.

By looking through all the things you have saved, I can get a good idea of what sparks your joy. I will then create designs for you that match your style and your price point. I can guide you to the flowers that are in season and will achieve the look you love.

To help you gain some understanding of wedding flowers and their cost I have listed some of the more popular flowers and foliage from luxury blooms to some beautiful flowers that fit into any budget.

Luxury: Peonies, Garden Roses, Vanda Orchids, Cymbidium Orchids, Colored Hydrangea (except light blue), Dahlias, Anemones, Calla Lilies, Stephanotis, Tropical flowers such as Protea &  Anthirium

Premium: Standard roses, Spray Roses, Dendrobium Orchids,  White & light blue hydrangea, Ranunculus, Dusty Miller, Exotic Foilage, Italian Pittosporum and Italian Ruscus

Standard: Sunflowers, Gerbera Daisy, Spider Mum, Delphinium, Larkspur, Eucalyptus, Stock, Lemon leaf, Israeli Ruscus

Economical: Alstromeria, Iris, Carnations, Filler flowers, Leatherleaf fern

I want each of my brides to be delighted with their wedding flowers and will work to create your dream within your desired price range. A typical wedding from Branching Out Chicago will range from $4000-$10,000 (including set up fees & tax) depending on style and flower selection. Please note, that this is an average, our minimum for full service is $3800.

An a la carte menu is available for weddings that do not meet our minimum. Dates and locations are limited.

To give you an idea of what wedding flowers cost, I have listed some common wedding items and a price range for each. Some items may be above and/or below these price ranges as price is determined by number of stems, flower choice, labor, and style.
